You may have noticed that most quality textile products are marked with OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100% – a curious but not always fully understandable marking. Therefore, we would like to explain to you what this frequently occurring textile marking means.
OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100% is a globally recognized ecological standard that sets maximum permissible levels of harmful substances such as azo dyes, nickel, cadmium, formaldehyde, etc. in textile production processes. In short, this standard specifies that harmful chemicals do not exceed their established permissible levels.
It goes without saying that textile manufacturers cannot label their products themselves, therefore the ecological standard is provided by the OEKO-TEX expert group. After conducting detailed research and finding no violations, the manufacturer is issued a certificate, which gives the right to use the OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100% labeling for a specific textile product. We also have our own Official OEKO-TEX representative in Lithuania - AITEX (Textile Research Institute) researches and certifies various textile materials in our country.
So if you have met this ecological standard in textile products, you can be sure that you have a product that is free of harmful substances and safe to use.
